Reaching the city centre

There are a variety of options connecting Lisbon Airport to the city centre.

By metro

The “Aeroporto” station is conveniently located just outside of the Arrivals hall. From there, Pátio da Galé can be reached in approximately 35 minutes (“Baixa-Chiado” station).

Please keep in mind that you must purchase a Viva Viagem card – the local transportation card – beforehand, which can then be topped up with metro rides. Viva Viagem cards and metro tickets are available at the automated machines and booths in every station.

Please visit Metro Lisboa for more information on routes and fares.

By taxi

Taxis can be boarded at the designated stations in the airport. A typical ride to the city center can take between 20 and 30 minutes and cost around €15.
