Sasha Koren

Former Editor
Mobile Innovation Lab
Guardian News & Media

Until April 2018, Sasha Koren was the editor and co-lead of the Guardian US Mobile Innovation Lab, a small multidisciplinary team dedicated to finding new and better ways to tell stories in mobile-specific formats. Starting in 2015, the lab worked in the Guardian’s New York newsroom to test and learn how to best reach news audiences on mobile devices. The results of what they learned about the opportunities available to news in audio, notifications, atomisation, live coverage, and other formats are available at medium.com/the-guardian-mobile-innovation-lab

Prior to joining The Guardian US, Sasha spent over a decade as a digitally focused editor at The New York Times where she built and led the social media and reader engagement teams and fostered innovations in incorporating readers’ voices into stories. Earlier she led digital innovation on The Times’s features desks and within its editorial department.
