Director of Editorial Content
Santiago Lyon has more than 30 years of experience in news-service photography as an award-winning photographer, editor and media executive. As a photographer for Reuters and the AP, he won multiple photojournalism awards for his coverage of conflicts around the globe.
In 2003 he was named Director of Photography at the Associated Press. That same year, he was a Nieman Fellow in journalism at Harvard University. Under his direction the AP won three Pulitzer Prizes for photography as well as numerous other major photojournalism awards around the world. In late 2016 he left the AP later joining Adobe as their first Director of Editorial content, a position tasked with developing and growing Adobe’s photojournalism offering to its customers.
Lyon serves on the Board of Directors of the Eddie Adams Workshop, the VII Foundation and the RISC journalism safety organization. He was Chair of the Jury for the 2013 World Press Photo contest.
