Patrícia Silveira

Patrícia Silveira is an Assistant Professor at IADE – Universidade Europeia and an Invited Assistant Professor at Catholic Portuguese University. She is also an Integrated Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (University of Minho). She holds an European PhD in Communication Sciences by the University of Minho, with the thesis “Children and News: creating meanings about current events and the world” (fellowship by the National Foundation for Science and Technology).

Along with the teaching activity, she was the Pedagogical Coordinator of Media Lab, a media literacy project within the portugueses newspapers Diário de Notícias and Jornal de Notícias.

She collaborated with the Communication Sciences Department as an Invited Lecturer in the Graduation of Communication Sciences (University of Minho) and participated as a research member in national and international projects. She is the author and co-author of several national and international papers and book`s chapters.  In 2012, Patrícia carried out a research period in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), working as well in the EMEDUS Project – European Media Literacy Education Study. Patrícia Silveira was awarded with the Students’ Merit Award, by the University of Minho, in 2009.
