Ferial Haffajee is the editor-at-large at the Huffington Post South Africa. She was the editor-in-chief of City Press Newspaper. She was  the editor of the Mail & Guardian from 2004 to 2009 and the first woman editor for this major South African newspaper. She is former chairperson of the South African National Editor’s Forum. Haffajee was awarded the 2014 International Press Freedom Award by the Committee to Protect Journalists and was appointed to the board of the International Press Institute in 2011.
