Abigail Edge is the Google News Lab Teaching Fellow for the UK. Before joining Google Abigail was a senior social media producer at BBC News. In April 2018, she moved back to the UK after three years living in Denver, Colorado, where she was part of the SPJ-Google trainer network and freelanced as a journalist for outlets including the Guardian and VICE.
Her other credits include technology editor at Journalism.co.uk, where she reported on innovations in the digital news industry and co-organised the news:rewired conference. She spent five years as a regional news reporter and editor, and she’s an awardee of the Guardian’s Scott Trust Bursary.

GOOGLE: In this session you’ll see examples of journalists using a range of Google Maps to visualise their stories and engage their audiences. You’ll also learn about the Google Earth Studio, a new tool designed specifically for journalists to build their own high resolution maps and visuals.
